Our Mission:
Everyone Deserves Sex Therapy (EDST) believes that everyone deserves affirming and expansive sex therapy that prioritizes humanity over pathology. Our goal is to help therapists and clinicians divest from outdated and harmful clinical norms and equip them with innovative practices and progressive approaches to treating clients’ mental, sexual, and relational challenges. From professional development to sex therapy certification, EDST offers socially conscious, justice-oriented trainings designed to elevate the sex therapy field’s norms, standards, and practices.
EDST is an approved provider of continuing education (CE) credits for the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). These CE credits can be used toward AASECT certification and renewal.

EDST offers an online sex therapy certification for emerging and established clinicians. This justice-oriented professional credential decenters pathology, divests from the mental health industrial complex, and provides progressive tools, practices, and perspectives. Coming in November 2025!
Our Sexual Attitude Reassessment (SAR) is a unique professional development experience that helps attendees evaluate and examine their beliefs and value systems around sexuality, autonomy, race, identity, relationship dynamics, and more.
Our professional development and continuing education offerings enable clinicians to maintain their credentials while continuing to invest in forward-thinking approaches to treating mental, sexual, and relational challenges.
This self-led business coaching program is designed to help clinicians jump-start their business, launch that new course, refine their vision, or get closer to accomplishing their professional goals – especially the ones that have felt overwhelming or out of reach.

Who is EDST?
Everyone Deserves Sex Therapy (EDST) was founded by AASECT-certified sexuality educator Anne Hodder-Shipp, CSE, (she/they pronouns) in collaboration with AASECT-certified sex therapist and Supervisor of Sex Therapy Paula Leech, LMFT, CST, CSTS, (she/her pronouns) to serve emerging and established clinicians in the sexuality field.
EDST is the “sister” professional organizaton to Everyone Deserves Sex Ed (EDSE), which was founded in 2015. EDSE provides private and group classes to teens and adults, as well as a Sex Educator Certification and professional development trainings for sexuality professionals of all kinds.
